There are many ways to classify air source heat pumps. The following are three common ones
1. Classification by compression form
According to the different compression forms, air source heat pumps are similar to refrigeration systems and are mainly divided into three forms: single-stage compression system, two-stage compression system and cascade system. In general, single-stage heat pump systems are more widely used, and two-stage and cascade heat pump systems are mostly used in cold areas, such as northern regions.
2. Classification by heat transmission and distribution objects
According to the different heat transmission and distribution objects, air source heat pumps can be divided into air to air heat pumps and air to water heat pumps. The heat exchange medium of the indoor and outdoor heat exchangers of air to air heat pumps is air, such as general split-type household air conditioners, which are widely used in small and medium-sized buildings such as residences, schools, shopping malls, and offices. The heat exchange medium of the indoor heat exchanger of the air to water heat pump is water. When heating and cooling are required indoors, the heat and cooling required by the user are provided by the hot and cold water generated by the system.
3. Classification by function
According to different functions, air source heat pumps are divided into general function air source heat pumps, heat recovery air source heat pumps and ice storage air source heat pumps.
